New Exempt Salary Threshold 2024. The final rule increases the salary threshold required to exempt a bona fide executive, administrative, or professional employee from federal overtime requirements. Starting july 1, 2024, the final rule sets the standard salary level for executive, administrative and professional exempt employees under the flsa at $844 per week.

On january 1, 2025, the annual salary threshold will increase again to $151,164. Starting july 1, most salaried workers who earn less than $844 per week will become eligible for overtime pay under the final rule.
